An in-stadium food scene that ties team to town.
AN IN-STADIUM FOOD SCENE THAT TIES TEAM TO TOWN.
FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, OH
Recreating the food and beverage scene at FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, included extensive concept development, naming, interior design and project execution to create a vibrant, custom-Cleveland experience. Richardson partnered with Aramark Sports and Entertainment to develop a vision that transformed a traditional, typical stadium experience into a city-inspired hub for food and entertainment. It includes the flavors of prominent local chefs while tying into the overarching Browns brand.
Eating CLE at the Stadium
The Aramark team invited local chefs Michael Symon, Jonathon Sawyer, Rocco Whalen and Chris Hodgson to the stadium “table,” helping each reinvent a stadium-specific concept. Three new venues were born: Rocco Whalen’s Great Lakes Cheesesteaks, Jonathon Sawyer’s Sausage and Peppers, and Chris Hodgson’s Downtown Dogs. Symon’s already-established B Spot brand was introduced to the stadium with a creative kick: a designated beer line with modern taps hanging from the ceiling.
The headliner concessions triggered the redesign of more than 30 other stands throughout the stadium. These, too, reflect a locally grown flavor and design that aligns with the refreshed stadium concept. New stands include: NeoPizza, Cleveland Cocktail Company, C Town Eats, and Hop and Olive, a craft beer and Bloody Mary bar.
Meanwhile, the Kardiac Club offers a luxurious environment for game days and private parties. Its environment blends heritage and modern components, with specialty floor design. The overall feel is one of VIP status.
A Fluid, Engaging Experience
Cuisine throughout the stadium is sweet and savory, imbued with Cleveland nostalgia, reflective of the city’s favorite neighborhoods, and designed for efficient service. A revamped lower lobby elevates the stature of fans’ and players’ stadium experience. New social destinations throughout the stadium give crowds places to eat, drink and mingle.
The design process was a sort of chain reaction of inspiration. As new concepts took shape, ideas for new concessions developed. The ultimate result is an engaging, dynamic entertainment center where Cleveland fans can make memories.
