The multi-purpose NRG Stadium in Houston is home of the Texans and host to a range of events, from the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo to concerts, the NCAA Final Four tournament and the Super Bowl. So, a strategic approach was necessary when rebranding the food and beverage experience. Aramark approached Richardson Design as a collaborative partner on the project, which resulted in transforming core concessions, creating a portable program, renovating the club level and redesigning suites.

A Modern, Down-to-Earth Approach
The core concessions on the stadium’s general level were renovated with a mind toward modern-natural, using materials such as stone, wood and metals. A BBQ concept speaks to its Texas roots and makes the stadium feel like home to guests. The space is flexible and clean, simple and cutting edge. Interactive elements engage patrons and improve efficiency and convenience.

A portable program with fun, versatile concessions is clean and attractive, with a touch of country in wood detail. These stations give guests the option to easily grab and go.

Meanwhile, at the club level, the bars and end zones were upgraded to provide a premium feel. That meant incorporating more luxurious materials and offering homelike amenities. Redesigning suites allowed for more modern food presentation through equipment upgrades, communal tables and updated finishes. Overall, the stadium affords those who partake concessions at any level of the complex to feel like true guests.

Providing Adaptability for a Multi-Use Space
Catering to different audiences was a design priority, because NRG Stadium is host to a range of events and guests—not just football fans. So while concessions, materials and names introduced at the stadium have a Texas feel, they are not solely “Texan,” making it a flexible food and beverage experience.
